For over 30 years, Roc Aventure has designed and developed activities at height in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes.
Founded in 1992 by a high-mountain guide, the company is now one of France’s leading names in via ferrata.
In 2005, Roc Aventure created the Durance Gorges Park in L’Argentière-la-Bessée: a unique site combining progressive via ferrata routes, giant zip lines and natural areas accessible to everyone.
Designed as a place where visitors can spend the whole day, the park offers a different way to experience the mountains, combining adventure, thrills and quality family time.

From what age can children try Via Ferrata?
The routes are accessible to children from the age of four.

Do i need to book in advance?
Booking is required only for the zip lines, as departures are available in the morning only.
The via ferrata routes remain accessible throughout the day without prior booking.
Is the equipment provided?
Yes, all the necessary equipment is provided on site, including a harness, helmet and via ferrata lanyards.
The equipment is regularly inspected to ensure that everyone can enjoy the activity safely.
Is there a safety briefing before starting?
Yes, a compulsory safety briefing is provided before every departure.
During the briefing, our team explains the safety instructions and how to use the equipment correctly.
How long do the activities take?
The duration varies depending on the activity.
Allow approximately two hours for the zip lines and between 30 minutes and four hours for the via ferrata, depending on the route you choose.
We recommend planning to spend the whole day at the park so that you can make the most of all the available activities.
What happens in bad weather?
Activities may be adapted or temporarily suspended depending on weather conditions to ensure your safety.
Do i need to be athletic to try Via Ferrata?
No. Our routes are progressive and adapted to different ability levels.
Some routes are suitable for beginners, while others are designed for more athletic and experienced participants.

The Durance Gorges offer a wide range of outdoor activities for families to enjoy together, including via ferrata, giant zip lines, river swimming and a children’s play area.
